We use Sodium Percarbonate Clenser (Similar to the chemicals in OxyClean) only stronger and more pure. This product will not break down wood fibers like bleech or other store bought costic cleaners such as M-1.
We follow up the cleaning with a PH balancer and wood brightener product to improve the natural look of the wood.
We use only low pressure rinsing to protect the entegrity of the wood. The use of high pressure will split, splinter and tear out chunks of wood. Any damage to the wood will cause premature deterioration. Our solutions do all the work.
For staining or sealing of wood we recommend and prefer to use Ready Seal commercial penetrating oil stains. This product is not available for purchase in local retail stores such as Lowes or Home Depot. At the customers request we will seal or stain with other products if they preffer.
Wood Facts...
Unprotected wood will quickly absorb water which causes it to swell. As it dries, wood shrinks. This cycle continues over and over causing wood to warp, split, crack, cup and become oxidized (turn grey).
Most people that use pressure treated lumber think they are already fully protected. This myth is FALSE. Pressure treated lumber is NOT weather proofed. In fact the treating process makes the wood more porous and susceptible to moisture damage.
Parafin or alkide based sealers such as Thompson Water Seal do not offer any real protection. In fact they will promote mold growth in the wood faster than un-treated wood. This is due to the organic material and animal fats in the products. You are better off just cleaning the wood every couple of years.
